How I present returns

Your tax return, told as a story.

After I file, I send you a short visual walk-through of the return. Income, savings, deductions, the outcome. You read it on your phone in a couple of minutes.

The recap, section by section

Here's what my clients are handed.

One card per step. Keep scrolling.

Here's how your income flowed
W-2 Wages$0
Business Income$0

The starting point
01 · Income flow

Every dollar you earned, in one place.

I start the recap with your income. W-2 wages, business income, retirement, interest, dividends, capital gains. Every source on one card, biggest at the top. You don't have to dig through forms to figure out what the IRS actually saw.

Most of my clients tell me this is the first time they've looked at their income laid out like this since the year they filed.

The deductions I captured
02 · What I saved you

Your five biggest business deductions, surfaced.

If you run a business, this is usually the card where the conversation gets real. I pull the top five Schedule C deductions and show you the dollar amount I captured on each, plus what your tax bill would have looked like without them.

These aren't write-offs you could have taken. They're the ones I actually took.

The single biggest lever
03 · Your largest deduction

The biggest reduction on your return.

Whether it was QBI, mortgage interest, a charitable contribution, or something else entirely, I call out the single largest deduction on your return and what it actually did for you.

If you only remember one number from the recap, I'd want it to be this one.

The headline moment
04 · What my work was worth

The number I want you to walk away with.

How much less you paid because I filed this return, compared to a by-the-book filing with no strategy. Credits I went looking for, adjustments I applied, elections I made on your behalf.

I don't pad this number. It's what ended up on your return vs. the baseline.

The bottom line
05 · Refund or owed

The final number, stated plainly.

No hedging, no fine print. Just the final number. Green if you're getting a refund, red if you owe. This is the one clients tend to screenshot.

Then it's all yours
06 · In your inbox

It shows up in your inbox.

No app to install, no portal to log into, no password to remember. The day I file, you'll get an email from me. Tap the button and your recap opens in your browser, the same way you just scrolled through this one.

Feel free to forward it along to a spouse, a bookkeeper, or a financial advisor. It's just a link.

How it works

Three steps, and you're reading it on your phone.

01

I file your return

Same Wood Tax process. I prepare it, review it, and file it. Nothing about the work itself changes.

02

I build your recap

Your numbers become six short cards: income, savings, top deductions, and the outcome.

03

You get a private link

I email it over the day I file. Tap through it on your phone in a couple of minutes. Nothing to download.

Why it matters

A return you'll actually read.

You see what changed

Year over year, in plain numbers. Nothing buried in a 40-page return.

Where the strategy lives

Deductions, credits, and QBI are called out so the work I did is actually visible.

Easy to pass along

Send the link to your spouse, your bookkeeper, your financial advisor. No PDF to attach.

Kept private

Access-code gated, the link expires, and it's not indexed by search engines.
